A remarkable gathering of around 300 farmers was held in District Mandi Bahauddin, focusing on Sustainable Rice Production and Water-Saving Techniques. The event, organized by Rice Partners (Pvt.) Ltd., aimed to empower the farming community through continuous training, technical support, and cost-effective cultivation practices to help farmers achieve higher yields and improved livelihoods. Key agricultural experts graced the occasion and shared valuable insights. Mr. Irfan Ullah Warraich, Divisional Director Agriculture Extension Gujrat Division, emphasized the importance of crop residue management, mechanical sowing and harvesting, and ensuring the availability of modern machinery for farmers. Dr. Tahir Hussain, Principal Scientist at the Rice Research Institute, discussed effective crop management, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and harvesting protocols. Sh. M. Iqbal, Deputy Director Agriculture Extension, guided participants on the judicious use of fertilizers, efficient water utilization, and soil testing. Meanwhile, Syngenta’s Regional Head stressed the responsible use of pesticides.
